edr tool power cable
The Hyundai-Kia EDR tools do not have a DC power input on the tool unlike the Bosch® CDR Tool.
In an office setting originally it was necessary to use a direct-to-module cable connected to the DLC cable on the tool in order to be able to connect the AC/DC power supply. Recently a DLC power adapter was released that would allow you to connect power to the EDR tool via the DLC cable.
Out in the field the EDR tool requires the data link connector (DLC) to have 12-volts present in order for the EDR tool to power on. In some instances, the DLC might not have power due to a compromised electrical system. With the Bosch CDR tool you could simply use the 12-volt power adapter and plug it into the tool.
This custom one of a kind cable can be used to provide power directly to the EDR tool. In the office: Using this EDR tool power cable allows you to power up the tool using the AC/DC power supply that came with the tool without any other cables. In the field: Using this EDR tool power cable allows you to provide power directly to the tool when the DLC does not have power. You can use the 12-volt cigarette lighter power cord that came with your Bosch® CDR Tool or any similarly designed power cord.Note: You cannot use this cable when collecting data directly from an airbag control module (ACM).
