ACM adapter
In some instances the area where the vehicle wiring harness connects to an airbag control module (ACM) can be damaged prohibiting the Bosch® direct-to-module (D2M) cable from connecting. Additionally, the ACM case may have sustained damage during the crash. In some cases getting to the ACM may not be possible, but the wiring harness leading to the ACM is accessible.
Perhaps you possess the necessary skills to examine the module and determine it is safe to collect crash data, but you are simply unable to connect the D2M cable.
This custom one of a kind cable allows you to connect to the either the ACM wiring harness or the pins on the module directly (either outside or inside).
Four wire piercing devices are included and once connected to the applicable wires the appropriate color banana plugs are inserted into the wire piercing device. The other end of the cable has a 16-pin DLC connector that can now be connected to factory tool including diagnostic scan tools.
two options for connecting to the ACM, both of which have four connectors. One option gives you a method to connect to the pins of the module (outside) and the second option gives you a method to connect to the connection on the printed circuit board (inside).
Note: This cable is not to be used as a replacement to purchasing the Bosch® D2M cables. It should only be used when/if the ACMis damaged and connecting the D2M cable is physically not possible.
